Navigating Saga

There are three main ways to navigate in Saga — from the left-hand sidebar, with the Search menu, or through page links and autolinks. Learn how to navigate between your pages, collections, tasks, and workspaces with ease below.

Left-hand sidebar

The left sidebar makes it easy to find what you need across your workspaces. It's where you can:

  • Create a new page
  • Open a page or a collection
  • Open a list of your tasks
  • Access the pinned items in your workspace
  • Switch between workspaces or create a new one
  • Access your account and workspace settings

Opening the sidebar

  • To open the sidebar, click on the workspace logo in the top left corner ↖️ or along the left side of your screen. Clicking on the logo will dock the sidebar and fix its location until you click on the logo again to close it.
  • Alternatively, use the shortcut Ctrl/⌘ + S to open or close the sidebar.

View Pages, Tasks, Collections

Click on Pages, Tasks, Collections, or a on a Collection title button to open a table with a view of pages in that selection. Close the table by clicking on the same button again or on the X button in the top right corner.

Toggle and untoggle collections

Hover over a Collection button or the Favorites button inside the left-hand sidebar until the > toggle appears to the left of the button. Press it to open a list of all pages which are a part of that Collection or Favorites. Press it again to hide the list.

Navigating with the search menu (Ctrl/⌘  + K)

The search menu is the fastest way to quickly switch between pages, tasks, collections, or to search your workspace for a specific keyword.

To open the search menu:

  • Click on the 🔍 icon in the top right-hand corner to open the Search Menu
  • Alternatively press Ctrl/⌘ + K on your keyboard
  • Type a page or collection title to quickly navigate to it.

Navigating through page links and autolinks

If you prefer to not use collections to categorize pages, use links instead. With automatic linking, page links, and references of pages, you can navigate easily through links alone.
