Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts help you be more productive and navigate Saga with minimal effort.
Useful Commands
- ⌘ K Search and quickly jump between recent pages.
- @ or / Autocomplete menu. With this menu, you can add a new block, mention a page, or create a new page on the go.
- ⇧ Click Open pages in side by side view mode.
Navigating back and forward
- ⌘ [ goes back in your browser history
- ⌘ ] goes forward in your browser history
Autocomplete with @ or /
Use the autocomplete commands to add blocks to your pages. Type @ or / and then start typing a block name to view autocompleted options:
- @ or / Opens the autocomplete menu
- @ bullet Creates a bulleted list item
- @ numbered ↵ Creates a numbered list item
- @ heading 1 ↵ Creates large heading
- @ heading 2 ↵ Creates medium-sized heading
- @ heading 3 ↵ Creates small heading
- @ checklist ↵ Creates an empty checklist for to-dos
- @ quote ↵ Creates a quote block
- @ callout ↵ Creates a callout
- @ divider ↵ Creates a divider
- @ table ↵ Creates a table
- @ page_name ↵ Creates a link to an existing page or creates a new page if the page does not exist yet
Create a page from selection
- ⌘ ⇧ K Creates a page from selected text
Linking shortcut
- ⌘ ⇧ K Creates a page from selected text
- You can quickly link or create a page by typing [[, then write the name of the page between the brackets: [[ page title ]] ↵ Links or creates a page
Editor shortcuts (markdown)
Use markdown style shortcuts while typing to create content in your pages like lists, todos, headings, and quotes:
- # Space creates large heading
- ## Space creates medium heading
- ### Space creates small heading
- - Space creates a bulleted list
- 1. Space creates a numbered list
- [ ] Space creates an empty checkbox (no space in between)
- [ x ] Space creates a completed checkbox
- ” Space creates a quote
- > Space creates a collapsible heading 1
- >> Space creates a collapsible heading 2
- >>> Space creates a collapsible heading 3
- --- Space creates a divider
To-dos
- [ ] Space creates an empty to-do
- ⌘ ↵ Complete a to-do item
Formatting selected text
Select text with your cursor and format it with the following keyboard shortcuts:
- ⌘ B bold text
- ⌘ I italic text
- ⌘ U underlined text
- ⌘ ⇧ C inline code
- ⌘ K add a website link to selected text

- ↵ inserts a new empty paragraph
- Tab indents a block. Indenting nests a block below the one above it
- ⇧ Tab un-indents a block
- ⌘ S Open / Close the sidebar
- ⌘ N Create a new page (in the desktop app only)
Saga AI
Use the following shortcuts when working with AI in the editor:
- ⌘ J Open the AI popover
- ⌘ L Open AI chat
- ↵ Submit a prompt
- ⇧ ↵ New line in the prompt input
- ↑ / ↓ Navigate AI suggestion list
- ↵ or Tab Select a suggestion
- ⌘ ↵ Accept AI result (Keep or Replace)
- ⌥ ↵ Insert AI result below (when editing selected text)
- Esc Stop AI generation or close the AI popover
Switch between workspaces
- ⌘ 1, 2, 3… Switch quickly between workspaces
